In case it helps anybody, the component I found is TAdvStringGrid. It does all I wanted and much more. I was getting useful results within 2 hours of downloading it. Some of the additional features I hadn't thought of but have used anyway. The application has a significantly improved interface inside 1 day.

I bought your component pack recently and I have to admit that out of all the component libraries I have, yours is by far the best one (at least you and I seem to think in the say way. i.e: needed features, behavior, etc...) I've worked with Flexcel for the last two years and this is one of the greatest products I have ever had the pleasure of working with. It is FAST and it just plain works! They are super responsive in answering questions and they've even added features I've requested. If you need to generate reports, don't shell out money for Crystal (or whatever name it goes by this month) - Buy this and you will NOT be sorry.
