Huh, Raspberry Pi app from the Delphi IDE?!?

Excitement

Before we dive into more technical details and bring a first beta build with this new milestone reached, we just wanted to brighten up your day and share on this gray, cold, rainy Thursday our excitement in the lab.

Excitement because months of R&D work result today in closing the circle and having the ability to simply select from our Delphi IDE a new target : Raspberry Pi and then XCOPY the app and run it directly from the Raspberry Pi, including accessing all sorts of hardware hooked up to this small SBC. It goes without saying this concerns an app written 100% in Object Pascal with a RAD component based methodology and as a bonus with a couple of our FNC components and using the Miletus technology of TMS WEB Core.

Expect more details coming, but enjoy for now this first glimpse:

I work in Delphi on boring Windows database programs. Sometimes I have interesting projects that will interface a Windows workstation to laboratory instruments over TCP/IP or RS232. Thanks so much for the unexpected gift of Raspberry PI.
TMS continuously provides developers with advancements that go way beyond components.
I imagine a huge R&D team or Chilon that can make modernization happen while avoiding the impossible.
Can we get an outline of how you direct development and go from idea to production with new features?

Hello Bruno, is it possible to create in TMS Web Core an Delphi App for Raspberry Pi with Touch Screen? Thank you!

Assuming you refer to a screen connected via HDMI, if the touchscreen comes with drivers to make it work as touch screen on the Raspberry Pi OS, it should also allow the Miletus app to react to touchscreen input. With this approach, you do not need to do anything in your Miletus app.
If you connect a screen via other hardware ports, most likely the touch interface is accessible via i²c or SPI and Miletus offers you to communicatie over i²c or SPI as well.
