Delphi Platform Support Changes in TMS BIZ
Friday, February 6, 2026
Over the years, TMS BIZ has built a reputation for supporting a very wide range of Delphi versions and platforms. This has helped many customers keep long-lived projects running while gradually modernizing their codebases. The TMS BIZ suite includes products such as TMS XData, TMS Aurelius, TMS Sphinx, TMS RemoteDB, and TMS Scripter.
However, maintaining broad backward compatibility has an increasing cost: slower innovation, more complex builds, and limitations on adopting newer language, RTL, framework, and platform features.
To keep TMS BIZ healthy, modern, and maintainable in the long term, we are making a phased adjustment to the list of supported Delphi IDE versions and platforms.
This post explains what is changing, why, and what is coming next. We also created a dedicated Support Center topic for discussion and feedback: TMS BIZ Platform Support Feedback.
Current situation
Across all TMS BIZ products combined, we currently support the following Delphi IDEs:
- Delphi 7
- Delphi 2007
- Delphi 2009
- Delphi 2010
- Delphi XE
- Delphi XE2
- Delphi XE3
- Delphi XE4
- Delphi XE5
- Delphi XE6
- Delphi XE7
- Delphi XE8
- Delphi 10 (Seattle)
- Delphi 10.1 (Berlin)
- Delphi 10.2 (Tokyo)
- Delphi 10.3 (Rio)
- Delphi 10.4 (Sydney)
- Delphi 11
- Delphi 12
- Delphi 13
For these IDEs, all platforms supported by the IDE are currently covered by at least one TMS BIZ product. This level of backward compatibility is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain.
First wave: what is being dropped now
Dropped IDE versions
We are dropping support for the following IDEs:
- Delphi 2007
- Delphi 2009
- Delphi 2010
- Delphi XE
Platform support changes (non-Windows)
For Android, iOS, macOS, and Linux, we will now require: Delphi 10.4 (Sydney) or newer.
This means that for Delphi 10.3 (Rio) and earlier, only Windows will be supported.
Resulting supported matrix (after first wave)
After these changes, the supported IDEs and platforms will be:
- Delphi 7
- Delphi XE2 (Windows only)
- Delphi XE3 (Windows only)
- Delphi XE4 (Windows only)
- Delphi XE5 (Windows only)
- Delphi XE6 (Windows only)
- Delphi XE7 (Windows only)
- Delphi XE8 (Windows only)
- Delphi 10 (Seattle) (Windows only)
- Delphi 10.1 (Berlin) (Windows only)
- Delphi 10.2 (Tokyo) (Windows only)
- Delphi 10.3 (Rio) (Windows only)
- Delphi 10.4 (Sydney) (all supported platforms)
- Delphi 11 (all supported platforms)
- Delphi 12 (all supported platforms)
- Delphi 13 (all supported platforms)
This change allows us to:
- Simplify build and test pipelines
- Reduce conditional code paths
- Adopt newer language and RTL features safely
- Improve quality and delivery speed
Second wave (planned): feedback wanted
This is not the end of the platform cleanup.
In a future second wave, we are considering: dropping Delphi XE2 through XE6 entirely.
We want your feedback on this. If you are still actively using XE2XE6 in production with TMS BIZ, please share your scenario in our Support Center topic: TMS BIZ Platform Support Feedback .
- Which IDE version you use
- Which TMS BIZ products are involved (e.g., XData, Aurelius, Sphinx, RemoteDB, Scripter)
- Whether an upgrade path is planned or blocked
Your input will directly influence timelines and transition strategies.
What this means for existing projects
- Existing versions will continue to work as-is.
- You are not forced to upgrade immediately.
- Newer TMS BIZ releases may no longer compile on dropped IDEs or platforms.
- Bug fixes and new features will focus on the supported baseline.
We strongly recommend planning upgrades toward Delphi 10.4+, especially for cross-platform projects.
In closing
These changes are about ensuring that TMS BIZ remains robust, modern, and future-proofwithout sacrificing quality or developer experience.
We appreciate the communitys long-standing trust and look forward to your feedback on the next steps.
Please share your thoughts in the Support Center topic:
