Is it possible to change the forecolor of a word inside a cell.  I know that to make a word bold it is the preferred method to use HTML coding but if I want to change a single word to red is that possible?

Yes, it is possible, with html or using RTFRuns.

The simplest way to find out any of both ways is to use APIMAte: Create a new file in Excel, set a word to red, save the file, and open it in APIMate. It will tell you the code you need.
